(四)UsefulExpressionsinthetext.

1.Somepeoplecarriedtheirchildrenontheirshouldersothattheycouldseebetter。

sothat引导的是一个目的状语从句,目的状语从句通常带有can,could,may,might等情态动词,以表示目的,意为“为了,以便”。
