阅读理解是英语考试必考题型,主要用于检验学生英语的综合水平和解题能力的高低。每年中考英语试卷中有三篇阅读理解文章,内容包括社会热点新闻、科普史地、应用说明、生活故事、名人轶事等。试题形式有判断正误题、选择题和根据短文内容书面回答问题。这部分成绩直接关系到学生能否在英语学科考试中取得高分。因此,大家对此类题目既重视又有些畏惧。复习时,师生家长会不约而同地把时间、精力大量投注其上。

那么,到底如何在复习中提高阅读效率,并正确解题呢?概括起来,需要注意以下几点:

1、巩固、扩大并活用词汇(包括词组、短语和构词法),夯实语法知识。

随着社会要求和教学要求的提高,生词和结构较为复杂的长句、难句在短文中和题目中经常出现、没有过关的语言知识,学生很难领会文章,审清题意。因此,扎实的基础知识、善于处理词汇、牢固掌握教学考纲中要求的各个语法项目、通过分析句子结构辨别意群及正确理解结构复杂的长句均是做好阅读理解的要素。

2、弄清原文、题干、正确答案项和干扰项之间的关系,切实提高实际解决问题的能力。

正确处理原文、题干、正确答案项和干扰项之间的关系,能使自己的思路和文章作者思路相一致,才能较容易地把握文章的主旨大意、结构脉络、作者的语气态度,人物的性格特征、事情的来龙去脉,使顺利解题水到渠成。

3、注意积累生活素材及英语国家的文化背景、人情风俗、生活方式知识。

当前的阅读理解选材越来越注重现代化、多样化、知识化和生活化,内容贴近生活,蕴涵着丰富的世界各国文化背景知识,具有强烈的时代感和交际性,常常从不同侧面反映了现前人们的思想意识、生活情趣和对人、对自然的态度及与世界的交流,就体裁而言,也涉及到记叙文、应用文、说明文等多种文体。只有通过大量阅读不同题材和体裁的短文,才能不断增强快速捕捉、掌握信息的准确度,也能提高面对较长篇幅阅读材料的心理承受能力。

4、重视培养正确的阅读习惯,加强锻炼跳读、略读、扫读等阅读技巧。

比较好的阅读理解方法是:初读文章——看题目——查读文章找依据——初定答案——三看文章找细节——推敲答案——四读文章——终定答案,其中综合了略读、跳读和查读等阅读技巧。在第一遍阅读时,可用略读或跳读的方式阅读全文,不必注意细节或具体事实,只求对文章有一个总体印象,了解中心思想和作者的基本观点,记住文中的信息方位。

接着,浏览题目再读文章,可以带着题目有的放矢地在文中圈圈划划、做标记,查找解答题目的依据,避免毫无目的地通读文章,许多局部性题目都可以通过原文中的一两句话直接找到答案。第三、第四次阅读主要是定度答案。

5、若是做问答题时,先须把握全文整体意思,弄清文中的人物、发生的事件、时间、地点、原因、前后逻辑关系及过程,然后再落笔定答案,有些文章的最后一题是开放性题目,只要言之有理,都能得分。此外,在书写答案时,还要注意题目要求的限制(如:最多不超过5个词),也须正确书写单词的大小写、名词的单复数、动词的人称、时态、语态等。

此类题目要求越来越高,难度越来越大。一方面文章要整体理解,另一方面问题和答句中已给的词语要领会。问题一般不会过于机械简单,答题的已给词语也一般不会和短文相关词语相同,这是为了考查学生对词语、句子的组织、文章的理解及多种表达形式的掌握程度。

浏览全文能获得更多的上下文提供的信息,并根据文章的内在逻辑意义、贯穿文章始终的主线以及作者行文的走向,把握文脉,调整并定位自己的解题思路,从而做出最终的判断。如在Compuer一文中,作者贯穿文章始终的主线为Computersareimportantforhumanbeings,但到了最后,作者笔锋一转,提出Areyouafraidifcomputerscanreallythinkoneday?作者的行文走向是一种担心和忧虑,所以读者既要善于听话听音,也要把握准文脉,及时调整、定位自己的思路,就会发现上述问题的正确回答应该是Yes,weareafraid.。
识别短语注意搭配
一类短语是由动词+介词,或动词+副词构成,在现代英语中,这类词组很多而且实用性强、结构简练、使用灵活、表达生动,如breaktheice,lookforwardto,keepaneyeon,catchone’seye等;还有一类使用极广的是介词短语,如withregardto,inablinkof,oneveryone‘slips,attheageof等。如果平时能注意词组、短语的整体记忆,掌握它们的搭配规律,在做完型填空时就能得心应手,减少失误,提高完型填空的命中率。
运用语法理顺关系
语法知识是指导完型填空的法宝,词汇是根据语法规则确定各自的位置,有了语法规则文章才能有条不紊、顺理成章。完型填空题实际上是“形断意不断,貌离神不离”,正如藕断而丝连,语法规则起到“牵动荷花带出藕”的功效。如介词后的代词必然是宾格;物质名词一般不用复数;形容词必须放在不定代词后;行为动词的否定和疑问句应由助动词do构成;情态动词只能与不带to的动词连用等。如黄浦区2003年中考模拟试卷中的完型填空题第3小题:Iwasthehappiestboyintheworld,填入的词逻辑根据为happy,语法根据为最高级,因为前一个词是the,后面是intheworld短语,即在一个范围内进行比较,应用形容词的最高级,因而推断出该词为happiest;再如该项的第6小题,挖空处为don’t,因为行为动词的否定式应由助动词构成,而且主语是I,因此得出该词为don‘t。
遇到难词反复默念
有时会遇到这样的情况,大部分词都填出来了,只有一、两个难词绞尽脑汁仍不得要领,如果考试时间允许,不要轻易放弃,要穷追不舍,先从语法角度考虑,再从逻辑角度考虑是否有隐含意思、作者的情感以及背景文化和习俗等。有时句子好像什么也不缺,读上去很完整,就必须考虑,很可能缺的就是连词and,副词then、always、sometimes等,如果还未填出,应反复默念几遍,有些词就会悄然而至,在你的记忆中浮现出来。
细心检查避免疏漏
完成填空后最关键的一点是要细心检查每一个填空处是否有笔误或疏漏的地方。有些考生为自己全部填出了而沾沾自喜,根本没想到不是缺了“’”就是少了“s”,或是忘了加“ed”,这是很可惜的,因为从意思上他是理解了、看懂了题目,但因粗心而大意失荆州。如闸北区2003年中考模拟卷完型填空中的第4小题,应为That‘snoproblem.。这是一句口语习语,通常不用复数,但很多考生都填了problems;再如我校模拟卷完型填空中的第5小题为Thenyoucanlookatitagainwhenyourmoney’sallgone.,虽然很多考生理解了题目的含义为money,但几乎没有人理解为moneyisgone的缩写,所以细心检查,反复回读,能够减少疏漏,提高完型填空的正确率。

做阅读理解练习应先看问题,弄清考点。在阅读短文之前,快速浏览问题,以便在阅读短文时做到心中有数,快速、准确地捕捉所需信息。其次要注意先易后难。做题时不必拘泥于书中所呈现的语篇顺序,应遵循先易后难的原则。如可先做细节题再做推断题,因为细节题大多能直接从文中找到答案,而推断题则需对短文进行深层理解,再作判断。

(一)主旨概括题

主旨题主要考查学生对短文中心思想或作者意图的掌握。做此类题时,应通读全文,理解文章大意,充分理解主题句的意义。短文往往围绕主题句展开,主题句通常出现在短文第一句或最后一句。

(二)细节理解题

细节题是用来进一步表达主题,体现中心思想的,往往针对短文某个细节来设题。做此类题时,应快速捕捉信息,可能是一些事例、数字等,阅读时要有针对性。
